How High Can You Jump Into Water and Survive

At what tiptop does it get dangerous to jump into water?

  • Dorsum when I was young and dumb we used to get drunk and jump off a bridge into the river. I'd say information technology was about 20ft high, but I think high dives are taller than that. At what height does it become really dangerous?

    50feet?shrug

  • If you land improperly off a 10M platform, yous can mess yourself upwards. I'd guess starting at like 70 feet, you are going to mess something up no matter how well you land.

  • If you land improperly off a 10M platform, you can mess yourself up. I'd guess at similar seventy feet, you lot are likely to mess something up no matter how well you land.

I jumped from about a 95 foot cliff and was okay. Basically a pencil dive while wearing shoes and belongings on to my nuts for dear life. I judge a couple years earlier a chick had landed wrong and compacted her spine (okay now, though).

I dearest heights, simply even that was scary as shit to do. I was barely leaning forward and information technology felt like someone had sat on my chest.

  • the Blood-red Cross says any swoop/jump from a height taller than yourself can be unsafe depending on how you lot hit the h2o.

  • I would say 30 feet information technology starts getting dicey.

  • I'm guessing 50 - 60 anxiety could cause some problems based on how you hitting the h2o.

But, on the off gamble Denicos Allen is reading this... y'all're probably fine with anything under g feet.

  • I jumped from nigh a 95 foot cliff and was okay. Basically a pencil dive while wearing shoes and holding on to my nuts for love life. I judge a couple years earlier a chick had landed wrong and compacted her spine (okay at present, though).

I love heights, but fifty-fifty that was scary as shit to do. I was barely leaning forwards and it felt similar someone had sat on my breast.

wow if i jumped 95 anxiety i'd probably either bounciness or disintegrate upon touch.

  • Pretty crazy camera angle.

  • wow if i jumped 95 feet i'd probably either bounce or disintegrate upon impact.

If authentic he was only 25 anxiety below the height gear up by the female person globe record dive of 120 anxiety.

  • In one case you are about 7' tall

  • Level of danger varies depending on whether or not you tin swim

  • If authentic he was only 25 feet below the height ready past the female world record dive of 120 feet.

Yeah, just she was doing flips and shit. I sure equally hell wasn't.lol

  • If y'all are non paying attention, even 3 feet can exist dangerous, if you dive in and hit your head on a log or rock...yeah, information technology has happened. Yous could be knocked out and drown, and/or spinal injury. Whatsoever peak is a risk, then know where you are diving, and know what you are doing.

  • I'grand not sure what the highest I've jumped from, but I did it in a coulee in Utah. Started at about ten anxiety, which isn't that bad, moved upwardly to nigh xx feet, yet not bad, the next area was about xl feet or so I would judge. That i was not like shooting fish in a barrel to jump the first time. Adjacent time we went back it was the showtime one nosotros went to, just this time I didn't hit the water after mentally counting to 3, I made it to iii and thought, 'oh shit', then iv and hit the h2o. I effigy it was around 50 feet or then and the h2o level had gone downwardly. I was the only one of my friends who wore 'shoes' for lack of a better term, and I was the only one who could walk the next week. Definitely cantankerous your legs and keep your anxiety flat.

  • I was just at Lake Powell, and saw a posted warning that showed a serial of photos of some dude jumping into the water from 90 feet. Apparently the dude died. The sign likewise showed the charge per unit of acceleration from various heights. Pretty interesting.

That being said, my highest leap was from nearly sixty feet or so.

  • whatsoever peak if you lot dont know whats in the water or the depth. I know two people who broke their necks diving off boats and striking the lesser and the other a tree stump.

  • Pretty crazy camera bending.

scared Eff that. I detest heights. I'd have a damn death grip on that ladder.

  • Pretty crazy bound off a cliff.

  • Pretty crazy camera angle.

Craziest part about that is he'due south doing it from a hand stand up.

  • Darnit, now you got me tryin to find video of the place where I jumped from. It was a cliff in Summersville Lake in West Virginia. However, all the videos on youtube appear to be from the smaller thirty-40 ft cliff (and non us). The 30-xl ft one was actually more fun - y'all didn't have too much to worry about unless y'all somehow pulled off a bellysmacker or something.lol Nosotros were totally dicking around - catching beers in midair and such.

I'one thousand pretty sure the 95-footer isn't jumped often, and in fact the guy running our trip stopped going there shortly after out of fright that people would get hurt.

In that location actually is video of my jump somewhere out in that location, unless it's been taped over. The guy running the trip took video from the water. Information technology's never been put on youtube or anything as far every bit I know - it was probably 8 or 9 years ago.

  • 103 feet and yous're staring at significant chance of fatality.

ANY autumn from a height three times the victims torso meridian is a significant chance for serious injury or death.
